Rosa Soler

Rosa Soler is a flute player specialized in contemporary music and improvisation. Born in a small town of Alicante (Spain), she starts playing the flute in her hometown with Merche Femenia to further develop her playing with Bernat Castillejos in Sabadell. After completing these studies with the highest marks, she fulfills her Bachelor between Balearic Islands Conservatory (Mallorca) and Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona) under the guidance of several teachers such as Christian Farroni. She completes it with a postgraduate in flute performace with Julia Gallego in the same music center. Later on, she frequently travels to Finland to receive classes from Mikael Helasuovo and Sami Junnonen from Sibelius Academy at Helsinki. She starts developing a taste for new music, driving her to study the Master in Performace Practice of Contemporary Music at Graz University, under the guidance of Klangforum Wien with Eva Furrer and Vera Fischer as flute teachers, graduating with honors. She has performed with numerous ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble für Neue Musik, Ensemble Drama and has participated in important contemporary festivals like Mostra Sonora Sueca, IMD Darmstadt, Impuls Academy, Festival Mixtur, Musikprotokoll... She also adquires big experience in Symphonic music performance by participating with orchestras such as Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears or Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya amongst others. As a soloist she recently played Mozart's Concerto for flute and harp with Orquestra de cambra de Xàbia, A. Jolivet's Suite en Concert for flute and percussion ensemble with Ensemble de percussió del Conservatori del Liceu, and M. Muggli's Nov14 for flute and ensemble with Ensemble für Neue Musik.
